Membership Coordinator/Customer Service (Las Vegas, NV)

The American Gem Society (www.ags.org) is seeking a Membership Coordinator. If you are interested in a dynamic and high energy position, read on!

We are a nonprofit membership trade association looking for an energetic and self-motivated individual, with strong communication and customer service skills, to fill our full-time position working in a professional office environment.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Identifies and follows up with prospective members
  • Identifies opportunities to expand the credentials of the current membership
  • Processes new membership applications and student/titleholder applications
  • Executes membership touch point plan within specified territory
  • Manages inbound and outbound calls relating to member inquiries, requests, etc.
  • Maintains and updates member data
  • Assists in planning and coordinating member events
  • Assists in the sales of sponsorships, advertising, and registration / ticket sales for member events
  • Provides administrative support for the membership department
  • Occasional travel may be required.

Qualifications include (but are not limited to):

  • Associates degree preferred in a business related field and/or 1-2 years of experience, preferably in a nonprofit sales environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Professional, detail oriented, and energetic with strong communication, organization, customer service, and sales skills
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work autonomously
  • Ability to work in a team oriented environment.

This position is non-management/non-exempt at an hourly rate of $18.00-$20.00 (depending on experience). We offer a competitive benefits package, which includes medical, dental, vision, and life insurance as well as short term and long term disability and matching 401(k).

Our work schedule is 37.5 hours per week. Our work week is 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and 8:30 a.m.-3:00 p.m. on Friday. Some travel may be required outside of normal working hours.
