Administrative Assistant (Las Vegas, NV 89115)

The Administrative Assistant provides advanced administrative support and assistance of a sensitive and confidential nature while coordinating work activity and special assignments for the Vice President as well as supporting a variety of people and functions including Corporate management, Human Resources, and additional Corporate functions as required.
This position is a gateway for the Vice President to internal/external customers. The ideal candidate will have the ability to communicate clearly, take initiative, problem solving skills, exercise independent judgement and maintain a positive attitude. The successful candidate handles difficult situations, identifies issues and formulates solutions in areas throughout Corporate and demonstrates effective time management and organizational skills.
The successful candidate will work independently and is comfortable interacting with personnel at all levels throughout the Company including senior management. This position also requires thorough knowledge of Company practices and procedure manuals, basic finance skills and familiarity with the budgeting system, strong proofreading and editing skills, strong Microsoft office skills and the ability to quickly prioritize workload.
***Experience compiling department budgets and budget variance reporting strongly preferred***
  • Exercise independent judgment in the completion of all assigned tasks
  • Coordinate and schedule appointments, itineraries, and all related business functions
  • Assist in the preparation and coordination of budgets and/or reports for more than one group within a major reporting area
  • May be required to provide work direction to and train office support personnel
  • Use problem-solving and troubleshooting techniques when special problems arise
  • Set up and maintain confidential records
  • Proofread and edit all projects prior to release
  • Compose sensitive correspondence
  • Arrange and coordinate meetings and take and distribute meeting notes as appropriate
  • Determine and use generally accepted methods to classify, retain, and retrieve stored data
  • May also perform various functions of lower classifications
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Regular and predictable attendance is a condition of employment and is an essential function of the job

Minimum Qualifications: This position requires a minimum of five years of progressively responsible administrative experience and an associate's degree from an accredited university or an equivalent combination of related education, training and work experience. Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
This position also requires thorough knowledge of administrative clerical office practices and procedures; Company practices and procedure manuals; scheduling appointments, itineraries and business functions; report writing; advanced verbal and written communication techniques; composing sensitive correspondence; problem-solving techniques; handling difficult calls and situations; recordkeeping practices; basic accounting/budgeting procedures; standard word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software; email systems; proper use of the English language to include spelling, grammar, vocabulary and punctuation; standard office equipment; proficiency in the set up and use of audio and visual aids and related equipment.
Salary Details: Salary Range: $19.73 - $25.99
