Driving Requirement: In-state travel is required. An acceptable driving record for the last 39 months is required including no DUI, suspensions or revocations and less than 8 points on your license. A copy of your MVR (Motor Vehicle Record) is required at the time of your interview, if an Out of State Driver License was held within the last 39 months . Employees who drive on state business must complete any required driver training (see Arizona Administrative Code R2-10-207.12.). Employees may be required to use their own transportation as well as maintaining valid motor vehicle insurance and current Arizona vehicle registration; however, mileage will be reimbursed.
This position completes service needs assessments; verifies eligibility factors and determines eligibility for multiple programs based on financial and non-financial factors and additional cross program involvement, (i.e., TANF and CPS); maintains a caseload and makes service changes in eligibility; re-determines eligibility at least every six months; utilizes time management techniques to plan and prioritize service delivery on a complex diverse caseload; operates multiple automated computer systems in order to authorize client services; inputs, updates and retrieves confidential client information and receives and sends the information to other Departments and contracted staff and programs; acts as service broker for multiple service delivery tracks; coordinates service delivery for mutual clientele based on information and/or requests from other agencies; ensures coordination with CPS and assures CPS children are given priority for services.
Knowledge of: department policy and state statutes, federal law and rules pertaining to multiple child care eligibility programs; local demographics and community programs which may be of help to clients; Department of Health Services (DHS), Department of Child Safety (DCS), First Things First (FTF) and other DES programs; operating automated equipment and navigating through multiple computer systems including GUIDE, AZCCATS, AZTECS, SYSM, Outlook, CHILDS and CPSCR; methods/techniques used for effective case management, including time management, priority setting and policy controls.
Skill in: mediating, prioritizing, planning and organizing case management activities; conducting interviews in a time efficient manner while eliciting information needed; listening; oral and written communication; giving presentations; diffusing hostile or angry customers; operating multiple mainframe and web-based computer systems.
Ability to: absorb, interpret and assimilate large quantities of technical written material; manipulate computers, operate telephones and other office equipment; elicit accurate data from a variety of sources; schedule time for a wide array of priorities and responsibilities; exercise sound judgment within broad, established guidelines.
